PM expresses shock and deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the rail accident
The Prime Minister has expressed deep sorrow and shock at the loss of lives caused by the accident at Malwa station involving the Kalka Mail. He has spoken to the Minister of State for Railways and to the Chairman, Railway Board and instructed that all available resources in the area be deployed for rescue and relief operations. The Ministry of Railways has already announced ex gratia relief to the next of kin of those killed and also to those injured in the accident.
