Outokumpu appoints Jarmo Tonteri Executive Vice President - Specialty Stainless

Mr. Jarmo Tonteri has been appointed Executive Vice President - Specialty Stainless and member of Outokumpu Group's Executive Committee as of 1 August 2011. He will report to CEO Mika Seitovirta. Mr. Tonteri will be responsible for Outokumpu's business units Special Coil, Special Plate and Long Products as well as the thin and precision strip mill Kloster and Group R&D. He will be based in Stockholm.
Jarmo Tonteri is a Finnish citizen, born 1952 and holds a Master of Technology (metallurgy) from Helsinki University of Technology and a Master of Economics from Helsinki School of Economics. He has over 30 years' experience in the metals industry and over 20 years' experience in the steel business. Mr. Tonteri has worked outside Finland for over 20 years, first in the US and since 1992 in Sweden. He held several managing director positions in the Swedish operations of the steel construction and engineering company Rautaruukki. Since 2005 Mr. Tonteri was the managing director of Ovako, a leading European producer of long special steel products, from which position he retired in spring 2011.
