SunBorne Energy and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) bring the world’s best to launch Solar R&D in India

 

·         One of the first few PPP projects in the new and emerging sector

·         A joint effort to make the 20, 000 MW national solar mission a reality

 

New Delhi, October 25, 2010: SunBorne Energy, a leading specialist in Utility Scale Solar Solutions (50MW+), in partnership with Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), is set to launch the first path breaking Research and Development project in India.

 

SunBorne Energy has a panel of technical advisors namely Dr. Yogi Goswami, Dr. Lee Stefanakos, Dr. Manuel Romero Alvarez, Dr. Aldo Steinfeld. Under their guidance SunBorne Energy has come forward with an R&D initiative to innovate technology, localize the plant design and use domestic components to lower costs.

 

Speaking about this partnership, James Abraham, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, SunBorne Energy, said, “We are pleased to announce this valuable partnership with the Ministry. It is a big step in SunBorne’s commitment towards making solar energy a reality in India and hence bring solar power to in the forefront of India’s power mix.”

This project will access the best global know how bring a unique technology to India. This R&D effort will help us focus on innovation and indigenization of solar thermal components to help lower capital costs. SunBorne Energy’s R&D project will help bring state-of-the-art technology to India and create a center of excellence in the field of solar thermal. It will be one of the first few Private Public Partnership (PPP) projects in the new and emerging sector in India. This project will help utilize lower costs in India to help address a global problem of high costs. SunBorne Energy will employ qualified Indian scientists and engineers who have global experience and have worked extensively in the field and gained experience on solar power generation.
