Developing human capital, nurturing talent irrespective of the economic backgrounds are extremely essential aspects of a just society. How well we ensure inclusive and equitable social development will define the growth of the nation.
"Quality Education for ALL" (QEA) is one of the focus areas of Educell, an innovative firm comprised of IITians.
Vision QEA has identified unlocking the latent potential of human resources across the country as one of the strategic levers to create sustainable growth and innovation.
In words of QEA Founder Shreyansh Jain, IIT Mumbai - " The quality of education would define the fabric of the society and have a strong influence on the rate of economic progress and the manner in which social benefits are distributed. "
QEA pioneered the concept of mentoring by IITians - a platform where the aspirants are mentored over phone by a team of IITians. "Specially for kids from humble backgrounds, this will a boon. Despite abundance of talent, they lack focus and direction at times. Teachers can solve Physics problems, but when it comes to exam taking strategy, personal teenage issues - An IITian who faced similar dilemmas not too long ago is boon", says Japnik who in addition to being a consultant to the team also handles the Marketing and PR activities.
The young team at QEA has over 200 IITians on board. They are a young lot with "Big Ticket" plans in pipeline - 1000 students to be mentored Free of Cost by April 2011, Live mentoring sessions and seminars in school a and Skill Up-gradation programs for teachers. The team has made social entrepreneurship as one of its key motives and that reflects in the way the team goes about conducting its day to day activities - a plan out with the Chhattisgarh Government to mentor talented young minds lacking access to facilities, further strengthens the teams credentials.
The teams' focus in Chhattisgarh is on government run schools, since the disparity between private and public schools is extremely stark in the state. The Chhattisgarh project is a pilot - Its a harbinger of good things to come, since the team plans to replicate the success in other backward states.
A dedicated team of IITians, professional consultants to guide the team, a socially relevant cause and a zeal to excel - The concoction is a sure shot recipe for success !!
