Niagara Infrastructure Engineering & Architecture ties up with FrameMax

Kolkata, September 8, 2010: Niagara Infrastructure Engineering & Architecture (NIEA), company which offers engineering solutions for Pre Engineered Buildings and Civil Works today announced its newly formed association with US - based FrameMax – pioneers and now leading steel framing company in the world to integrate patented technology, CAD design & engineering into the framing manufacturing process. Together they will introduce ‘Light Gauge Steel Structures in India' – an Innovative Construction Technology (Patented by FrameMax Inc. USA).

 

With this association, NIEA will become the first company in India to construct projects on light gauge steel structures which will transform the face of concrete building structures. These Light Gauge Steel structures will be more than three times the ‘strength to weight’ ratio of wood or concrete, resulting in an overall lighter structure than wood and a significantly lighter structure than concrete. These structures will also perform better in seismic conditions due to its relative strength and much lighter overall building structure weight. The technology uses galvanized steel which is rust proof, mold resistant and waterproof and the steel carries 50 years (extendible) warranty against any form of corrosion. The structures will also be cost and time competitive as it will help reduce the construction time to one third of concrete construction. With the steel structures, the building completes twice as fast as compared to concrete construction. As compared to concrete buildings, buildings with the new technology will be environment friendly with reduced carbon emission and also the building materials can be recycled again at the end of building’s lifecycle.

Initially, FrameMax will undertake the designing and assist NIEA in building the steel structures. Going forward, FrameMax will provide the design and NIEA will develop the structures in their production facility in Ludhiana which has an installed capacity of 24000 metric tons of steel fabrications per annum.
