CII National Conference & Annual Session - Update
The Hon'ble Minister of Finance, Mr Pranab Mukherjee to inaugurate the National Conference and Annual Session and address the participants on Implementing Inclusive Growth and Development.
India has strong safeguard measures to promote inclusive growth through continuous interventions during the entire planning process by way of policy, budgetary allocations and creation of institutions. However, their effects have not been able to match the requirement. The country is experiencing exclusion in different forms e.g. (i) regional; (ii) social exclusion within developed regions; and (iii) economic disparities. The imperative for inclusive growth needs no repetition in the context of India's long-term growth prospects. However the experiences of the planning process over the years in terms of its real effects are prompting a rethink of the policy framework for poverty alleviation & livelihood creation in terms of both “approaches” and the “mechanics of deployment”. With effective and efficient implementation of the various schemes on government and the reform agenda of the Government being the key to an Inclusive growth, the focus of the discussions at the National Conference would be on the specific issue of "Implementation".
The CII National Conference & Annual Session scheduled to be held on Wednesday, 12 May 2010 : Hotel Le Meriden, New Delhi is expected to be attended by around 1000 delegates, which include CEOs/Government Officials/Policy Makers/Institutions/ Academia and others.
