PM’s council for Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) constituted

Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has constituted a Council under his chairmanship to advice the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) and ensure coordination between the Ministries, stakeholders and partners. 

Following are the members of the Council: 

1. Shri Pranab Mukherjee, Minister of Finance. 
2. Shri Sharad Pawar, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Civil Supplies, Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution 
3. Shri P. Chidambaram, Minister of Home Affairs 
4. Shri S.M. Krishna, Minister of External Affairs 
5. Shri M. Veerappa Moily, Minister of Law and Justice 
6. Shri Kapil Sibal, Minister of Human Resource Development 
7. Shri C.P .Joshi Minister of Rural Development & Minister of Panchayati Raj 
8. Shri Mallikarjun Kharge, Minister of Labour and Employment 
9. Shri A. Raja, Minister of Communications and Information Technology 
10. Shri Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission 
11. Shri Nandan Nilekani, Chairman, UIDAI
The Council will advice the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on the programme, methodology and implementation to ensure coordination between Ministries/Departments, Stakeholders and Partners. The Council will also identify specific milestones for early completion of the project.
