MR. S.K. ROONGTA, CHAIRMAN, SAIL BAGS SCOPE INDIVIDUAL EXCELLENCE AWARD

COAL INDIA GETS SCOPE INSTITUTIONAL EXCELLENCE AWARD

Mr. S.K Roongta, Chairman, Steel Authority of India Ltd has won the “SCOPE Award for Excellence and Outstanding Contribution to the Public Sector Management – Individual Category” for the year 2007-08. The award carries a gold plaque and a cash amount of Rs 1,00,000/- (One Lakh Rupees Only).

In the Institutional Category, Coal India bagged the Gold Trophy while Heavy Engineering Corporation Ltd bagged the Gold Trophy in the Special Institutional (Turnaround) Category. Electronics Corporation of India and WAPCOS Ltd bagged Gold Trophies in Medium and Smaller PSE Categories respectively. National Safai Karamcharis Finance & Development Corpn is awarded Commendation Certificate.

  Dr U.D. Choubey, Director General, SCOPE announced the awards here today. Earlier, the Jury of the SCOPE Excellence Awards under the chairmanship of Justice P.N. Bhagwati, former Chief Justice of India, with Dr Abid Hussain, former Ambassador of India to USA, Dr Arjun Sengupta, MP, Rajya Sabha, Dr. Nitish Sengupta, Chairman, BRPSE and Mr Moosa Raza, former Secretary to Government of India as Members met and unanimously decided the awards while International Management Institute (IMI) had evaluated the entries.

 

  SCOPE Excellence Awards have been conceptualized and instituted to recognize the contribution of Public Enterprises and to encourage outstanding persons for their hard work and leadership qualities. These are presented either by the Hon’ble President/Vice President or Hon’ble Prime Minister of India during the Annual Conference of Chief Executives of Public Sector Enterprises.
