It all started, being moved by the series of terrorist attacks and bomb blast that had ripped our country in recent years, which culminated in the Mumbai attack of 26/11 as the final nail in the coffin. A few like minded individuals in Ahmedabad came together to work on an action plan, which would envisage on spreading awareness by being an apolitical organization. The forum decided to collectively work in its capacity to build a strong, better and united India. The key idea of the forum is to form public idea and push forward the agenda by involving the masses, the youth in particular.

Post a few deliberations, in an effort to make it more broad based, it was decided to get associated with Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA), the premier management institution in the city as well as a front runner in the country. The Gujarat NRE – AMA Centre for National Integrity creates a common platform, a confluence of like minded individuals to discuss issues of common concern, and speak in one voice so that we can be heard over the din.

Mission Statement/Objective – “An apolitical movement, a confluence of all like minded individuals, with an aim to instill a feeling of patriotism, honesty, compassion, tolerance and humility, to develop and infuse the right value system and accountability through self discipline and using education as a medium, to inculcate moral and ethical behavior, as well as to have a clear understanding of our basic rights, duties and obligations, to raise the issues that face the society, to identify their solutions and to seek implementation for betterment of the Nation.”

The 3 key guiding principles of the centre are as under:

Inculcate a feeling of patriotism and good nation building and enforce discipline by using education as a medium.

Developing right value system and ethics through self discipline and empowerment of people to develop good citizens.

Respecting and practicing ethical behavior – understand our basic rights and also duties and obligation.

Inculcating moral and ethical values as well as a feeling of patriotism and unity among students and youth is the prime agenda, i.e. – we need to catch them young. The centre has an exhaustive agenda of involving youth in theme presentation contests, pilot projects in schools to have ethical behavior instilled in the child, introducing course or good governance, networking with people who are actually working at various levels on the ground, in tribal villages and involving them in the long run to take the agenda forward.
