Railway revenue earnings up by 23.16 per cent during the period 11th to 20th June 2012
The total approximate earnings of Indian Railways on originating basis during the period from 11th to 20th June 2012 were Rs. 3281.74 crore compared to Rs. 2664.59 crore during the same period last year, registering an increase of 23.16 per cent.

The total goods earnings have gone up from Rs. 1800.83 crore during the period from 11th to 20th June 2011 to Rs. 2330.99 crore during 11th June to 20th June 2012, showing an increase of 29.44 per cent. The total passenger revenue earnings during the period 11th to 20th June 2012 were Rs. 835.00 crore compared to Rs. 756.92 crore during the same period last year, reflecting an increase of 10.32 per cent. The revenue earnings from other coaching amounted to Rs. 81.16 crore during this period compared to Rs. 71.29 crore during the same period last year, showing an increase of 13.84 per cent.

The total approximate numbers of passengers booked during the period 11th to 20th June 2012 were 254.76 million compared to 232.49 million during the same period last year, showing an increase of 9.58 per cent. In the suburban and non-suburban sectors, the numbers of passengers booked during 11th to 20th June 2012 were 139.46 million and 115.30 million compared to 122.30 million and 110.19 million during the same period last year, registering an increase of 14.03 per cent and 4.64 per cent respectively.
