Export Grows 13.2% in July 2010: Commerce Secretary
India’s exports registered a growth of 13.2% in July, 2010, at US $ 16.24 billion. Announcing this at a press interaction here today, Shri Rahul Khullar, Commerce Secretary, stated that during April-July 2010-11, exports reached a level of US $ 68.6 billion at a growth of 30.1% while the imports were $ 112.2 billion with a growth of 33.3% and a trade deficit of $ 43.6 billion.
During the interaction, Shri Khullar informed that India’s imports in July were $ 29.17 billion, up by 34.3%.
Shri Khullar also informed that a target of US $ 200 billion is achievable even at a steady export growth of 15% from now on.
