President Smt. Pratibha Patil released a special Postage stamp to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Indian Oil here today. Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Sh. A Raja said that the stamps are not only a token of receipt of postage, but play a very important role as “cultural ambassadors”. The Minister added that by bringing out commemorative postage stamps the Department of Posts is committed to nurture the historical and cultural heritage of the nation. The stamps brought out not only serve the purpose of bringing revenue to the Department but also add to our knowledge and generate awareness about people, events and institutions.
Acknowledging the services of Indian Oil to the nation and its people Sh.Raja informed that the design of the stamp depicts the Company’s commitment and dedication to the national objective of self-sufficiency in energy sector, especially in oil refining and marketing.
