The Ministry of Tourism has taken note of reports appearing in various sections of media that the Adventure Tourism Road Shows planned in Australia and New Zealand have been cancelled. The reports referring to cancellation of Road Shows are not correct. The Ministry would like to clarify that it was approached by the Adventure Tour Operators’ Association to organize these shows in Australia and New Zealand in July, 2009. Considering the importance of these shows for realizing the untapped economic and tourism potential and promoting India as a major destination for adventure tourism, Ministry of Tourism had agreed to facilitate organization of these Road Shows through its office in Sydney. Subsequently, the Association expressed a desire to reschedule these events and hold them in September, 2009. Accordingly these Shows are now being planned for September, 2009.
