100 PORT MICROSITE MILESTONE FOR ISS

Today marks a milestone in Inchcape Shipping Services’ roll-out of its port microsite programme with the port of Nelson, New Zealand, the 100th site to be announced by the world’s leading marine services provider. A further 100 plus microsites remain to be launched, a process which will be completed by end August this year.

The purpose of the programme is to give ISS customers and others in the shipping industry a unique snapshot of each port – its trades, its authorities and regulations, its services, and the people in the ISS office with the local expertise to handle any enquiry that comes along.

Says Suzy McGregor, Manager – Web Content Development: “Our website traffic statistics show a growing number of visits by people searching for the kind of invaluable port information displayed on these microsites. Increasingly, such visits are resulting in enquiries which are then being converted into business for the Group’s offices around the world.”

The ISS port microsites contain a standard set of ten pages including a home page which gives users a general overview by describing the port and its characteristics. There is a page providing full contact details for that port office, contact form, a map and useful internet links.

Document libraries contain frequently used downloadable forms and documents pertaining to the location and port regulations whilst photo galleries hold a selection of images giving the user a taste of the location and conditions.
