SAPTA SHAKTI COMMAND IN ITS BATTLE READINESS

Troops of Strike 1 and Chetak Corps of Sapta Shakti Command have now built up in the deserts of Rajasthan to carry out one of the major annual summer exercise. Presently the formations are practicing their battle drills in the designated area of training and the exercise will reach to a culmination point when both formation of Sapta Shakti Command along with Air Force will carry out joint operation with swift battle manoeuvres to destroy enemy deep inside its territory.

The commencement of training starts with honing up of basic tactical drills at battalion/regimental level by carrying out sand model discussions map board exercises, briefings and demonstration of tactical drills. A number of field firings are being carried out to demonstrate the accuracy and lethality of the weapon system. A large number of innovations and modifications have been carried out by units and formations to enhance its combat power and the same is being tested in the field.

Army Fighting Vehicles such as Tanks and Infantry Combat Vehicles are practicing battle drills to tackle various types of obstacles with speed to outflank enemy. Long range artillery guns that shapes the battlefield before any offensive move are in the deserts to coordinate their application of fire power with other fighting arms. All formation headquarters have established themselves in the field with their units with state of art field communication. Army Aviation helicopters are working in close coordination with formations to provide reconnaissance and observation of enemy area from the third dimension.

The training events will culminate into a major joint Army – Air Force exercise.
