Second Marriage Dot Com to set a new
record of human emotions and sentiments
Kolkata, 8th August, 2012: Second Marriage Dot Com, produced by Vinod Mehta under the banners of Vin Mehta and directed by Gaurav Panjwani is a film that revolves around the story of a son and a father and a daughter and a mother, and how the son and the daughter decide to put an end to the loneliness of their parents and both wish that their parents should start afresh with a new life partner. The film features Bollywood stars like Model turned actor Vishal Nayak, Actress Sayani Gupta (passed out of FTII, Pune), Mohit Chauhan of “Chak De India" fame, and Charu Rohtagi seen as the mother in "Ishaqzaade" and “No One Killed Jessica" etc.

The story embarks with Akshay ( Vishal Nayak), a young IT Professional in Delhi, who in order to put an end to his father’s loneliness, makes up his mind to find a match for his widower father, Suneel Narang (Mohit Chauhan), who raised him up single-handedly. On the other hand, we come across sensitive yet vivacious Poonam (Sayani Gupta), with the same motive in mind in Jaipur, who wants to find a soul-mate for her divorcee mother, Shoma (Charu Rohatgi), so that she doesn't stay a loner for the rest of her life. Set against an urban background this story explores the complexities of human emotions which reflect in man-woman relationships. It has romance, comic relief and subtle criticism of our socio-cultural surroundings but at the core of it, it’s pure human drama involving grief, guilt, struggle where the identifiable characters are put in to testing situations. Revolving around this idea is the plot of Second Marriage Dot Com, which breaks free from the shackles of the above stated dialogue. Epitome drama, comedy, romance, guilt and all human emotions are all blended into a tale and served to the audience on a colorful platter.

Sayani Gupta, a Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) acting graduate who made her debut as a lead in the film, said, “The film explores the idea of every individual needing a companion for reassurance, and how far does marriage go in providing that.” She also added that unlike most other actors who have to struggle for years to get their break, she has been more fortunate to have landed a lead role so quickly.

The film was shot in the beautiful and striking locations of Jaipur, Gurgaon and Delhi. The story takes sharp turns and explores dark zones of the human psyche filed with different emotions and leaves a strong message of living one’s own life to the fullest, not abiding to the societal norms every time.
