Strategic issues of Entertainment and Media Industry in focus at General Management Programme at IIMB   


Bangalore, August 27, 2012: The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) announces a General Management Programme for Entertainment and Media Industry professionals to be held at the IIMB campus on September 3-5, 2012.

This innovative executive education programme, now into the fourth batch, is designed to help senior executives in the fast changing entertainment and media industry reckon with emerging challenges and opportunities and hone their capabilities to address ideas, technologies, and emerging opportunities. With content based on original research of the strategic issues facing media and entertainment industry, the course will provide a deeper understanding of the critical issues impacting the industry.

The Programme Director of the course is Dr. S Raghunath, Professor of Corporate Strategy and Policy at IIMB. He offers an elective course on Strategic Management in Film and Television Entertainment Industry in the Executive Post Graduate Programme and General Management Programme for Film and Television Industry Professionals. Dr. Raghunath has written case studies on topics that include leadership and management challenges in Film, TV, Animation, Gaming and Entertainment Business. He was invited to the FICCI Frames panel on Big Budgets & Bigger Flops: What ails our movies? He has been quoted in publications such as Economic Times, Business World, Business Line and Computer Today and has been writing a column on business strategy for Business Outlook.

Primarily designed for potential leaders in an existing entertainment/media business or new media entrepreneurs, content creators, media/entertainment industry executives, financiers, marketing executives, consultants, talent managers, vendors, production house managers and directors, executive and line producers, distributors and exhibitors, the course will take up contemporary cases and will have well-known industry professionals leading the discussions at specific sessions.
