LT GEN ANJAN MUKHERJEE ASSUMED THE APPT OF THE
34TH DIR GEN ARTILLERY

Lt Gen Anjan Mukherjee assumed the appointment of the 34th Director General Artillery on 01 April 2012. He took over from Lt Gen Vinod Nayanar who superannuated from service on 31 March 2012, after a distinguished career of nearly 40 years.
Lt Gen Mukherjee was commissioned in December 1973. An Army Aviation Pilot. He is an alumnus of the prestigious Defence Services Staff College, Wellington and the National Defence College, New Delhi. He commanded an artillery regiment in J&K and an artillery brigade in Counter Insurgency Operations in Assam. He was Major General Artillery, Eastern Command, Kolkata from 2007 to 2010. He holds Masters degrees in Defence Studies and Labour Law and an M.Phil in Strategic Studies. He has been the official historian of the Regiment of Artillery and has authored eight books so far.
Prior to this appointment, he was Director General, Financial Planning, which handles the entire Army’s Budget.
