IPMX Placements – Batch 2011-2012

The fourth batch of IIM Lucknow’s one year full time, residential programme – International Programme in Management for Executives (IPMX) graduated on March 17, 2012. Institute conducts this programme in its campus at Noida. IPMX batch of 2011-12 had 67 students with quite heterogeneity in their industry backgrounds such as IT, Telecom, FMCG, Infrastructure, Power, Real Estate, Media, Healthcare, Civil Services, Education, Automotive and Banking & Finance backgrounds. IIM Lucknow has designed this unique MBA programme, taking into account the industry need for middle and senior level managers at functional and strategic levels.

Class of 2012 received an overwhelming response from the industry for placements. The rolling recruitment process that kicked off in November 2011, saw an enthusiastic participation of an array of companies from different industries such as Consulting, Telecom, IT / ITeS, Ecommerce, Manufacturing, Healthcare and BFSI. Albeit, the batch size was around 40% more than the previous batches, this placement season witnessed an unprecedented placements record. There was a mood of upbeat and buoyance among the batch with regular participation of companies for over two months.

This year institute has been able to attract many more new consulting firms, Conglomerates, IT giants and ecommerce companies such as Deloitte, KSA Technopak, GE India, Godrej, Microsoft, Tech Mahindra, Cognizant, Snapdeal, Amazon to name a few besides their regular recruitment partners. Diversity in participating companies and roles offered has also increased substantially. Students were offered strategic positions such as AVPs, DGMs Principal / Sr. consultants, Managers etc. in middle and senior level management across the functions.

Recruiters found IPMX programme of great help to meet their middle and senior level quality manpower demand. They also appreciated IIML’s ground breaking move to set up second campus at Noida (in National Capital Region) with an executive programme like IPMX. The location advantage of Noida campus is also helping recruiters to a great extent to conduct customised recruitment process for their lateral hiring needs.

Students were able to secure jobs in their desired areas and functions. Some students also received multiple job offers in campus. However, there were few students who could not (less than 5) get placement during the placement season due to their niche skills sets / preference. Some of these students did not accept the offers made by companies, which were not in line with their aspirations and preferred to wait until they get their desired jobs. Institute supports such students to help them to find the best fit jobs even after the completion of placement process.
Prof. Rajeev Kumra, Co-chairperson Placement shared that “To make this happen, IPMX placement committee continuously takes lot of innovative and radical initiatives with active involvement of recruiters in all phases. I feel that there is a need to convey the value proposition which courses like IPMX can bring to the table. In view of this, we conducted a pan India outreach programme this year, which was intended to bring recruiters and institute closer. I heartily thank to all our industry partners for their confidence in IPMX batch and their cooperation. We are very happy to see that class of 2012 received an excellent response from the industry. Not only diversity in participating companies has increased but also the quality of offers and CTC has also improved. We intend to keep this momentum on and are committed to cater the burgeoning demand for management professionals at middle and senior level management.”
