ASAS reduces operating costs with new homogenizing plant
The Turkish manufacturer Asas Aluminyum Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. (ASAS) has ordered a continuous homogenizing plant from Hertwich Engineering, Austria. The new plant ensures low operating costs. The electrically heated continous furnace consumes only 210 kWh per t of aluminum and therefore distinctly less than conventional gas furnaces. In addition, ASAS will benefit from low maintenance costs and short downtimes, ensuring high productivity of the extrusion presses used.
Hertwich Engineering’s scope of supply includes a helical ultrasonic inspection station, homogenizing facility, cooling system and turbo cooler as well as a sawing and packing station. The desigh production is 80,000 typ.
Commissioning is scheduled for early 2012.
