Sriprakash Jaiswal presents the highest ever CIL dividend to the Prime Minister
Shri Sriprakash Jaiswal, Minister of coal, Statistics and Program Implementation presented a dividend cheque of Rs 2210 crores to the Prime Minister, Dr Man Mohan Singh here today on behalf of Coal India Limited.
On the occasion the minister apprised the Prime Minister of efforts being made to improve the performance of CIL further. Shri C. Balakrishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Coal and Shri Partha S. Bhattacharyya, Chairman Coal India Limited were also presented.
The dividend for the fiscal 2009-10 is the highest ever paid by CIL. It constitutes 35% of the paid-up equity of Rs. 6316.36 crores. During the previous financial year CIL paid dividend of 27% amounting to Rs 1705.42 crores.
