Sultan Ahmed says CWG 2010 provides excellent opportunity for Tourism Sector in India
The Minister of State for Tourism Shri Sultan Ahmed has said that the Commonwealth Games 2010 will give us an excellent opportunity to convince the global visitors that India provides one of the best experiences for travellers. He was speaking at a function here today after giving away awards in hospitality sector. Shri Sultan Ahmed said the current tourist season we are entering into, and the revival in business and leisure travels with economic recovery in various developed countries will be building up the momentum to the historic sports event next year. He said during CWG 2010 we should all try to tap the sustainable aspects and build a platform, where each visitor to the Games becomes a source for multiple travellers. He said, Ministry of Tourism is monitoring the progress of creation of additional accommodation for the Games and so far 55% of the total hotel rooms in the definite category is completed and the rest will be ready well before the Games start. He said, this is the time we all need to fasten our seat-belts and ensure the CWG 2010 becomes a game changer for tourism industry in India.
