Javier SOLANA, EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP),
issued a statement today condemning the recent demolitions of Palestinian houses in East
Jerusalem:
"I am deeply concerned by the reports of recent demolitions of Palestinian houses located in East
Jerusalem. Such actions further undermine the efforts of the international community to re-launch
credible peace negotiations aimed at achieving a just and sustainable peace. I urge the Israeli
authorities to end these discriminatory measures. Everybody must avoid the risk of escalation in
East Jerusalem."
