Ahmedabad 6th October 2009: IIM A is organizing its annual Insight 2009 from 10th to 11th October 2009. Insight is the oldest fair at IIMA and one of the oldest market research events in the country, with an illustrious history stretching back 22 years. Other than market research, this year, the event has a special focus on the society, corporate social responsibility and how to build a prosperous and safer India.
One of the prime attractions at Insight 2009 is Gujarat NRE National Integrity Theme Presentation Contest. The topic for the contest is “Does Corruption feed Terrorism? How can we get rid of such Corruption?” The best brains of the Nation from the various B Schools like the IIMs and the top Engineering Colleges like the IITs would explore the correlation of corruption with terrorism, its genesis and try find out solutions to minimize the same. According to the organizers of Insight 2009, “The Youth needs to be sensitised on integrity and ensure that over a period of time, it is integrated in our lives. India’s march to become an economic superpower would get stalled if we do not stop the cancer of corruption from spreading. It is time for Corporate India to take the Lead.”
The event has received an excellent response and is going to become a platform where the future makers of shapers of the corporate world would diagnose and do a threadbare analysis of the nexus of corruption with terrorism.
According to Mr Arun Kumar Jagatramka, Chairman and Managing Director, Gujarat NRE Coke Ltd, “National Integrity is not limited to the issues of honesty and ethical behavior but has wider connotations, such as the bribes that one pay, the “hafta” and the “hawalas” that are being routed to the terrorists, to fund their sinister activities.” Mr Jagatramka further adds “Terrorism and its linkages with corruption can not be separated. Corruption breeds Terrorism. And we all knowingly or unknowingly go on supporting this menace.”
