Special Commemorative Postal Stamp Marking Golden Jubilee of Goa Leberation Released

A Special Commemorative Postal Stamp marking the Golden Jubilee of Goa’s Liberation was released today in Panaji in the presence of Chief Minister Digambar Kamat and Smt. Manjula Prasher Secretary, Posts, Government of India.

Releasing the stamp, which shows freedom fighters marching with the Indian flag in the backdrop of the lighthouse of Aguada Fort, Shri Digambar Kamat said the stamp captured the spirit of the liberation struggle, and thanked the Postal Department for the efforts in bringing out the stamp. Smt Manjula Prasher in her address said that the Postal Department has done significant work in Goa including vastly increasing the number of post offices since Liberation, thereby taking various schemes of India Post to every nook and corner of Goa.

On the occasion veteran freedom fighter from Maharasthtra Shri Mohan Ranade was felicitated at the hands of the Chief Minister for his sacrifices during the liberation struggle. Present on the occasion were Chief Secretary, Shri Sanjay Srivastava and other dignitaries.
