Siemens establishes Competence Center for metallurgical plants in Shanghai

“Backed by solid collaboration within the global network of Siemens, the Metals Technology business in China has developed its own solutions for local markets and export business,” said Werner Auer, CEO of Siemens Metals Technologies, at the inauguration of its new engineering and production center in the Minhang District, Shanghai, China. With an investment of US$80 million, Siemens has expanded its local manufacturing base and R&D center for the entire chain of steel processing. Here, more than 450 Chinese engineers will provide lifecycle and modernization services and develop leading plant components for local markets and export business.
