Mechel Announces Resumption of Work at Earlier Suspended Facilities of Two Southern Kuzbass Mines




Moscow, Russia – December 9, 2011. – Mechel OAO (NYSE: MTL), one of the leading Russian mining and metals companies, reports that work at several facilities at two of Southern Kuzbass Coal Company’s mines, which enables the company to produce at full capacity, was resumed fully after a temporary suspension.
Administrative suspension of work at several facilities of Lenin Underground and New-Olzherassk mines was lifted today ahead of schedule by order of the Mezhdurechensk city court as all grounds for the suspension have been eliminated.
As of now, production at Lenin Underground and New-Olzherassk has resumed as normal.
