Global Steel 2010, the fifth international conference on steel and steel making raw materials, is being organized in InterContinental, The Lalit Goa Resorts, Goa, from February 11 – 13.
The theme of this years Conference is “Time to steel ahead – Anatomy of an Economy riding the Growth Trajectory”. The conference is being held keeping in mind the growth opportunities opening up after the recession. Global Steel 2010 has thus been timed and structured in a way that will provide the right platform for steel, iron ore, coking coal, sponge iron and ferro alloys industries to conduct business under one roof.
The event will create an international meeting point to facilitate information exchange, strategic discussions, networking, forging alliances and to understanding trends in national and international markets.
The conference will be divided into several sessions including the Government’s and international perspective on the scope of enhanced trade and linkages for the Indian steel industry, technical sessions on raw materials, transportation and logistics, mining, panel discussions etc.
There will be distinguished speakers sharing their views and discussing potentials for steel and allied industries. Shri Virbhadhra Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Steel, Government of India will be the chief guest and Shri Atul Chaturvedi, Secretary, Minister of Steel will be the guest-of-honour. There will be other special guests including The Hon. Bob Carr, Former Premier of NSW, Australia, The Hon. Ian Macdonald, Minister for State and Regional Development, Minister for Mineral and Forest Resources & Minister for Central Coast, NSW, Australia and HE Mr Peter N Varghese, The Australian High Commissioner to India.
