New Order for Hertwich Engineering Billet production plant for HAI, Romania Hammerer Aluminium Industries GmbH, Austria, has placed equipment orders with Hertwich Engineering, Austria, a company of the SMS group, Germany, for their new billet production facility in
Romania.
The scope of supply comprises: two 60-t melting furnaces and associated charging machine and flue-gas filter. In addition, Hertwich Engineering will supply two 45-t casting furnaces, a VDC casting machine as well as a continuous homogenizing and sawing plant in combination with an ultrasonic inspection station.
The melting furnaces shall be equipped with regenerative burners and liquid-metal pumps for best energy efficiencies and least possible metal loss. Annual billet production is to be 75,000 tpy.
Commissioning is scheduled for the first quarter of 2010.
