ATLANTA, August 14, 2012 – First Data Corporation, a global leader in electronic commerce and payment processing, today announced that it has signed an agreement to provide credit card processing and related services for First Niagara Bank.
Based in Buffalo, N.Y., First Niagara Bank serves individuals, families and businesses across upstate New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Massachusetts. In addition to core issuer credit card processing services, First Data will provide web self-service tools for cardholders, fraud detection and prevention and other risk management services, customer care through IVR and live agent services, fraud and disputes claims management, statement production, and loyalty services for First Niagara credit card accounts.
“The depth of our relationship with First Niagara enables the bank to better serve its cardholders through a comprehensive suite of integrated services,” said Matt Kardell, senior vice president, First Data. “Our focus is on providing them with the end-to-end credit processing services they need to differentiate themselves in the market and meet their growth objectives.”
First Data also provides merchant acquiring processing services to First Niagara Bank.
Terms of the agreement remain confidential.
