AICPA to Release Quarterly Economic Outlook Index and Survey Results
NEW YORK, (June 1, 2011) -- The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants will release the results of its AICPA Quarterly Economic Outlook Survey at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 2. The CPA Outlook Index measures business expectations of chief financial officers and senior-level executive Certified Public Accountants.
The second quarter AICPA survey was conducted May 11-26 and captures the unique insight and knowledge of 1,093 CPAs who hold leadership positions as chief financial officers, chief executive officers, chief operating officers, or controllers in their companies. By measuring expectations for the future, the survey serves as a predictor of U.S. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and provides insights on the outlook for jobs and growth as well as prospects for corporate revenues, profits and expansion.

Carol Scott, CPA is the Vice President of Business, Industry and Government at the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Stuart R. Benton, CPA has over 24 years of diverse business experience. He has served in senior management positions for several companies with both domestic and international operations. Currently, he is the Executive Vice President & CFO for Bradford Soap, the world’s largest specialty bar soap manufacturer, as well as the world largest producer of shower poufs, with facilities in Rhode Island, Indiana, California and Mexico. At Bradford Stuart is responsible for accounting, finance, IT and Human Resources.
