Tokyo, Japan 18 May 2011 – The government of Japan, together with risk experts from the World Economic Forum’s Risk Response Network, met today to draw lessons from the 11 March earthquake and tsunami. Yukio Edano, Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan, pledged to transform the disaster-prone country into a “risk-resistant society”, promising greater transparency and faster dissemination of information, both within and beyond its borders.
