India – Slovenia Sign MoU for PSE Management
The Department of Public Enterprises (DPE), Government of India and the International Center for Promotion of Enterprises (ICPE), Ljubljana, Slovenia today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) increasing the scope of co-operation in the area of Public Sector Enterprises Management. Secretary, DPE Shri Bhaskar Chatterjee and Dr. Stefan Salej, DG, ICPE signed the MoU in New Delhi. The Union Minister of State (Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises), Shri Arun Yadav graced the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Yadav recalled the long association between DPE and the ICPE and expressed the hope that the signing of the MoU would further strengthen this co-operation and would also be a landmark in the long and friendly relationship between Slovenia and India.
As per the MoU, a Joint Action Plan for the year 2010-11 has been agreed upon. The Action Plan specifies that ICPE will organize 15 short-term Executive Training Programmes for participants from Indian PSEs. The ICPE shall also modify its current MBA Programme to include a new curriculum focusing on PSE Management to suit the executives of Indian PSEs. Under the MoU, the DPE shall host two International Conferences on Issues related to PSEs in full association with ICPE in Delhi. The ICPE and DPE shall also explore the possibilities of establishing regular Fellowships and Exchange Programmes in the areas of PSE Management. The ICPE shall revive the International Journal of Public Enterprises with an Indian Expert on its 3-member Editorial Board. The MoU comes into force on the date of signing and shall remain valid for 2010-2011.
