Shri Subodh Kant Sahai stress for second green revolution
  
Shri Subodh Kant Sahai, Minister for Food Processing Industries, stressed for the second green revolution in India. He stressed the role of Food Processing Industries in bringing second green revolution in India. He expressed these views while on his visit to France recently. The Minister said that the French companies can play a major role in revolutionising the Indian Food Sector. Shri Sahai proposed that French Food Laboratories can help in enhancing the food quality standards in India.

The French Minister of Agriculture, Mr.Bruno Le Maire stressed the need for greater cooperation in the field of Food Processing and said that the time has come to identify specific sectors in food processing and work on them with a focussed target. He said that meeting the target of doubling the trade between India and France, the Food Processing Sector will have to play a vital role. Indo-French Centre for Food Processing should be formed, where industries can participate, the French Minister said.

Shri Subodh Kant Sahai had a meeting with the French Minister for Foreign Trade. Both the Ministers stressed the need for strengthening the cooperation between two countries in all the sectors. The French Minister requested that India should work more in the retail sector to attract French Companies.

Shri Sahai expressed that French companies need to invest in Mega Food Parks, and in the development of Cold Chain in India. The Minister also stressed on the strength of rural economy of India. Shri Sahai assured full cooperation to French companies in their investment in India.
