Appointment of President, Stainless Steel Materials

BHP Billiton announced today that it has appointed Glenn Kellow as President, Stainless Steel Materials, effective from 1 April 2010.
Mr Kellow is currently President and Chief Operating Officer New Mexico Coal and has been in this role since April 2007, before which he was Chief Financial Officer of Base Metals from 2003 to 2007. He has been with the Company for 25 years and has held a number of senior finance roles including Vice President Finance and Planning in BHP Billiton's Petroleum division. Mr Kellow and his family will relocate from the USA to Perth.
BHP Billiton Chief Executive Non-Ferrous, Andrew Mackenzie, today welcomed Mr Kellow to the position.
"Glenn's wide experiences across a range of products and operations will be of great value in the leadership of Stainless Steel Materials, and I look forward to working with him" Mr Mackenzie said.
Mr Gerard Bond, who was the CFO of Stainless Steel Materials and who has been acting President, will relocate to Melbourne and assume the role of Project Director in the Finance Group.
Mr Jac Fourie will succeed Mr Kellow at New Mexico Coal.
