Statement by ThyssenKrupp AG on succession to Ralph Labonte
The contract of Ralph Labonte, member of the Executive Board and Labor Director of ThyssenKrupp AG, ends on September 30, 2013, in the quarter in which he will turn 60. Due to health problems he has requested the earlier termination of his contract. For this reason the Executive Committee of the Supervisory Board of ThyssenKrupp AG has started a structured selection process.
One of the candidates is Oliver Burkhard, head of the North Rhine-Westphalia region of the IG Metall trade union. In this context, the Chairman of IG Metall, Berthold Huber, has been requested to release Oliver Burkhard in the event of a positive decision.
The Supervisory Board of ThyssenKrupp AG plans to discuss this Executive Board appointment at its next scheduled meeting on November 21, 2012.
