First application in an electric steel making plant:
SDI Roanoke will receive Siemens’ Lomas off-gas monitoring system
Siemens Industry, Inc. today announced it has received an order to provide an electric-arc-furnace (EAF) off-gas monitoring system at Steel Dynamics’ Roanoke Bar Division’s mini mill in Roanoke, Virginia. This order marks Siemens VAI’s expansion of its patented continuous off-gas sampling and analyzing system (Lomas) into electric-arc-furnace process optimization through continuous off-gas monitoring. It is already a market leader for such technology in basic oxygen furnaces (BOF).
