Sushilkumar Shinde Addresses Investors Meet in Melbourne
  
Union Minister of Power, Shri Sushilkumar Shinde, today addressed the Australian investors and Companies at the Investors meet organized by The Global Foundation at Melbourne. Giving a Panoramic view of Indian power sector the Minister presented the growth plan of the Indian Power sector. ”India is growing at rapid pace and we have huge opportunities for investments and technology especially in power sector to move forward on the path of growth and progress” he said “Australian companies can play a major role in the energy sector of India and I invite you all to be a part of this exciting growth story of Indian power sector”, Shri Shinde added.

Shri Shinde also had a meeting with Victorian Energy Minister Mr Peter Batchelor. The Minister highlighted opportunities for investments in Indian power sector and interest of Indian companies to invest in coal and gas sector in Australia. Further, enhancing the co-operation and collaboration for implementation of clean coal technology, such as super critical and ultra critical technology, IGCC, solar thermal, sharing of expertise in mining.

The Indian delegation led by Shri Sushilkumar Shinde includes Secretary Power, Shri P. Uma Shankar, Indian High Commissioner in Australia Ms Sujata Singh, CMD NTPC Shri R S Sharma, Consulate General in Melbourne Ms Anita Nayar.

Shri Shinde will meet Mr Martin Ferguson, Australian Minister for Energy, Resources and Tourism, tomorrow in Canberra. The delegation will also visit the Institute for Global Carbon Capture and Storage in Canberra.
