Steel Secretary chairs CVOs Conference in Visakhapatnam
The Secretary, Ministry of Steel, Sri P K Misra visited RINL/Visakhapatnam Steel Plant today. He has also chaired the Chief Vigilance Officers (CVOs) Conference and had review with CVOs of the Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) under Ministry of Steel which includes, SAIL, RINL. NMDC, MOIL, HSCL, KOICL and FSNL.
During the meeting, it was decided to constitute a Task Force of CVOs to look into the Systems & Procedures particularly tendering processes of various organizations under the Ministry for a common approach to the extent possible. The Secretary also stressed upon openness and transparency in the procurement procedures which would help organizations to reach their goals.
The CMD of RINL/VSP, Sri A P Choudhary briefed the Secretary about the Plant and also for improvement in Systems & Procedures based on the experience of Stage-I expansion projects implementation of RINL. Later, the CVOs planted saplings at the Indira Gandhi Park in the township.
