Ahmedabad, 9th September 2009: ISTE Students’ Chapter, Institute of Technology, Nirma University is organising its 2nd annual National Level technical Symposium, I-FEST 2009 ivolving ideaZ, to bring together the budding technical minds of the country under one roof, to show case their talents and provide them with a platform to speak out their minds and display their ideas in an open and no bar environment. A wide variety of competitions that tingle ones grey cells, in an atmosphere of immense amount of fun and frolic have been lined up for students gearing up to fulfill their dreams. More than 500 participants have confirmed their participation till date representing above 70 colleges and institutes across the country and would be competing for prizes worth upto Rs.1 lakh.
The highlight of the symposium is Gujarat NRE - National Integrity Theme Presentation Competition which has 1st prize of cash Rs. 15,000 and 2nd prize of cash Rs. 10,000. It is an effort to take the concept of "integrity" to the college campuses - interact, and provide the college goers a platform to voice their views on integrity in a participative environment by encouraging open dialogue. The topics for the theme presentation contest are “India of My Dreams” and “No bribes, no illegal moves, no out of way favours – Can we pledge?”, being contested by representatives of various institutes across the country. The organizers have shortlisted 22 teams for preliminary elimination process to arrive at 8 finalists who would make the presentations on Friday morning.
With Mr Nagarjan Vittal, former Chief Vigilance Commissioner, being the chief guest gracing the theme presentation contest, the event gets an altogether higher dimension. A high profile panel of judges led by Mr N Vittal includes, Mr P K Laheri, Mr Uday Mahurkar and Mr Arun Kumar Jagatramaka, would be judging the Gujarat NRE Theme Presentation Competition at I-Fest’09.
According to Mr Arun Kumar Jagatramka, Chairman and Managing Director, Gujarat NRE Coke Ltd, “The Youth needs to be sensitised on integrity and ensure that over a period of time, it is integrated in our lives. It is in this backdrop that we have chosen National Integrity as the title of the Theme Presentation contest. The prime idea is to create awareness and through presentations and discussions, encourage new ideas for inculcating Transparency, Accountability and Ethical Behaviour in all facets of our national endeavor”. “National Integrity is all about developing a society based on moral and ethical value systems and integrating it with our national ethos”, adds Mr Jagatramka.
