The inauguration was followed by a Wreath Laying Ceremony, where in GOC-in-C Southern Command and GOC White Tiger Division paid tributes to the gallant soldiers who laid down their lives, in the highest traditions of the Army. Senior veterans present on the occasion included Lt Gen NS Cheema, Lt Gen Ajai Singh and Lt Gen BS Thakar.

This War Memorial is dedicated to the martyrs of the White Tiger Division. The names of the gallant soldiers have been inscribed in the “Roll of Honour” at the War Memorial.

The Memorial is ringed by a lawn with fountains on either side of the pathway. Built on a hard standing surface having 23 marble pillars laid in asymmetrical semicircular pattern, the centre of the memorial displays an elevated rock with “The White Tiger insignia” mounted on its top and religious shlokas from the holy books inscribed on it.

Two Vijayanta tanks, which were the main-stay equipment of the White Tiger Division in the past, have been placed on either side of the War Memorial.
