MDI Gurgaon hosts National Alumni Meet 2010

Managers should contribute to the Society, says Mr. Mahesh Peri, President, Outlook Group

Kolkata, 18 February 2010: The Management Development Institute played host to its distinguished alumni as part of its annual alumni meet, at its lush green campus in Gurgaon. Gracing the occasion with their presence were Mr. Mahesh Peri, President and Publisher, The Outlook Group and Dr. B S Sahay, Director, MDI.

Dr. Sahay addressed the audience and shared all the initiatives taken up by MDI over the years for working towards the modernisation and internationalisation of the institute. Dr. Sahay welcomed and acknowledged the distinguished work that the alumni have been doing. He called for a stronger relationship with the alumni.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Peri called for social contribution from the alumni. Mr. Peri said that while as managers, it is great to make profits and excel in one’s field it is also very important to contribute to the society which will bring them the most satisfaction. 

Prof. Pushpendra Priyadarshi, Chairperson, Alumni Relations, welcomed the alumni and called for stronger ties with the alma mater, as nostalgia struck everyone with batch after batch of Mandevians descending on the library greens.

Present on the occasion, Professor Bhusnurmath, Dean, Placements and Corporate Affairs, spoke about the alumni’s role in building the brand of an institute, and the synergies made possible by institute’s interactions with the MDI alumni..

Mr Anurag Batra, a distinguished alumnus of MDI and CEO, exchange4media.com, took the podium, dwelling upon the ideas and initiatives required for alumni activities.

A cultural session was next, where students of the current batch staged various performances, including classical dance and mimes. The evening ended over dinner as the current and previous batches interacted with each other and reminiscent the guests.
