Elara Capital sets up Singapore subsidiary to attract investments to India

Saurabh Srivastava joins Company’s Board

16th January, 2009: Elara has set up a subsidiary in Singapore - Elara Capital (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. - to attract investments from the region to India. 

Singapore is an important financial hub and India is regarded as a prominent investment destination among investors in the region. Singapore has emerged as one of the top foreign investors in India with significant contribution to FDI.

A dedicated team based locally will enable Elara to play a pivotal role in attracting investments from Singapore to India. Elara’s Singapore team will be led by the CEO and Managing Director, Praveen Jain who has over a decade of experience and in-depth understanding of financial markets in the region.

Elara also announced that Saurabh Srivastava, one of India’s leading IT entrepreneurs has joined the Board of Elara Singapore. Co-Founder, past Chairman and now Chairman Emeritus of NASSCOM, Mr. Srivastava has worked extensively in US, UK, Singapore and India and held senior executive positions with leading international companies.

Mr. Srivastava said, “Singapore has surplus capital and could be a useful partner in infrastructure development in India as well as for investment in Indian companies.”
