Women Power at IIM Lucknow in the Batch of 2012-2014


The batch of 2012-2014 of the Post Graduate Programme at IIM Lucknow became the largest batch inducted till date with 453 students – 407 students in the Post Graduate Programme in Management or PGP and 46 students in Post Graduate Programme in Agri Business Management (ABM).

The key focus this year was to ensure gender diversity without compromising on merit. One witnessed record increase in the fairer sex – a total of 166 female students have been inducted this year, 35.4% in PGP (144) and 50% (23) in PGP ABM. The batch of 2011-2013 saw around 14% of female students, whereas this year the total % of students (in both the programme) is around 37%.

Though majority of students still have engineering background (79.9% in PGP and 76% in PGP ABM), their percentage has come down compared to the previous years. Students from diverse fields like medicine, pharmacy and even food technology are a part of the batch of 2012-2014.
