MoS (Home) M.Ramachandran to Visit Mozambique will hold Deliberations on Bilateral Security Co-Operation
Shri Mullapally Ramachandran, Minister of State for Home Affairs, will be visiting Mozambique from July 13-15, 2012. He will hold discussions with his Mozambican counterpart Vice Minister of Interior H.E.Mr Jose Mandra on bilateral, regional and international issues. He is also expected to call on Minister of Interior Alberto Ricardo Mondlane and other leaders. The two sides are expected to sign an agreement on Security Cooperation between Government of India and the Government of Mozambique.

Indo-Mozambican relations have been traditionally warm and friendly. India was amongst the first countries to extend recognition to Mozambique after it achieved its independence in 1975 and amongst the first countries to open its diplomatic mission in the country. India and Mozambique have mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of industry, trade, mineral resources, cultural and political.

The MoS will also meet the Indian community in Maputo to share their concerns and take up the matter appropriately with the Mozambican authorities.
