Her Excellency Smt Margaret Alva, Governor of Rajasthan visited Amar Jawan Jyoti, Jaipur to pay homage to our brave soldiers, whose intrepid actions during the wars were epitomised by tenacity and enduring fortitude. She laid a wreath at the majestic memorial in the presence of Lt Gen Gyan Bhushan, UYSM, AVSM,VSM GOC-in-C, South Western Command, serving officers and service veterans. This is the first visit of the Governor to Amar Jawan Jyoti since taking over her office in May 2012. During the solemn ceremony she interacted with Army persons and veterans present for the occasion.

The Amar Jawan Jyoti enshrines the distinctive saga of unprecedented glory in soldiershood, symbolising sacrifice nurtured through ‘blood and honour’ and patriotic fervour for preservation pride. Through the ages, the Indian Army has pledged to uphold and preserve honour, an embodiment of fighting spirit and courage under fire.
