Excellent machine technology and innovative processes from KraussMaffei for processing polyurethane
Polyurethane systems for lightweight components and perfect surfaces

(Munich, June 02, 2012) Chinese processors are increasingly asking KraussMaffei about reliable machine technology and needs-oriented process solutions for manufacturing premium quality surfaces and lightweight plastic solutions (composites). KraussMaffei will therefore demonstrate its competence with innovative solutions for plastics processors on its Stand No. 900 at PU-China in Shenzhen (September 18 to 20, 2012).

Intelligent fiber composite solutions from KraussMaffei

From automobile production and the construction and furniture industries through to the leisure industry - composites are now being used to an increasing extent in many industries and applications on account of their unique properties. "KraussMaffei furnishes all services along the process chain and for complete process planning from a single source. We will demonstrate our know-how at PU China by means of numerous practical examples. We will therefore prove that we offer our customers the right process for optimized production for all corresponding component requirements", emphasized Nicolas Beyl, Head of the Reaction Process Machinery Segment at KraussMaffei. For example, the long fiber injection (LFI) process is used along with in-mold painting for large-format components for trucks and agricultural machinery on account of the premium quality surface and the reasonable machine costs. The KraussMaffei brochure entitled "Fiber Composite Solutions" contains a detailed description of many other processes for lightweight components.
"KraussMaffei also has the necessary special know-how for the production of high pressure mixing heads with laminar, splash-free material flow and highly accurate high pressure metering systems, as well as extensive experience in the design of different systems for flexible and high strength polyurethane products", added Beyl. The product portfolio also includes various machine components covering the entire production process, for example mold carriers, polyurethane molds and cutting solutions for the manufacture of ready-to-install fiber composite components.

Premium quality surfaces increasingly becoming a success factor.

The design of the surface during component design plays a major role in the success of a product in many industries. "Components with premium quality surfaces can be produced up to 30 per cent cheaper using our combined processes such as ColorForm or SkinForm", stressed Beyl. KraussMaffei offers solutions for all surface requirements and complete production cells from a single source. "Companies profit from the comparatively low investment and manufacturing costs compared with otherwise normal multi-stage processes", explained Beyl.
