BEAM ANNOUNCES ELECTION OF GRETCHEN PRICE TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Deerfield, Illinois, July 23, 2012 - Beam Inc. (NYSE: BEAM), a leading global
premium spirits company, today announced that Gretchen W. Price has been elected
to its board of directors.
Ms. Price is executive vice president, chief financial and administrative
officer at Arbonne International, LLC, a prestige personal care products
company. She previously served as executive vice president, chief financial and
administrative officer of Philosophy, Inc. and spent 31 years at Procter &
Gamble in key finance, accounting and operations leadership roles. Among her
positions at P&G, she led development and implementation of go-to-market
strategy in international markets following the Gillette acquisition; ran global
finance and accounting operations and had P&L responsibility for emerging
markets; led global treasury, M&A and investor relations functions as vice
president and treasurer; and was vice president of internal audit. Ms. Price
serves on the board of Cincinnati Financial Corporation, and is a graduate of
the University of Kentucky.
