The National Minerals Development Corporation (NMDC) presented final dividend cheque of Rs. 210.64 crore to the Minister for Steel, Chemicals and Fertilisers Shri Ram Vilas Paswan here today. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that NMDC paid interim dividends of Rs. 430.37 crore earlier this year. With this the total dividend paid by NMDC to the Government for the year 2007-08 become Rs. 631 crore, which is the highest ever, dividend paid by NMDC.
Presenting the cheque, Chairman and Managing Director of NMDC Shri Rana Som said that NMDC has not increased prices of iron ore since 1st October, 2007 and are much lower than the international market. The price revision is due from April.
