Transforming Dreams into Reality

Intro: V M Ralli, Director, Electrosteel Castings believes that the time has already come for his company and other businesses in West Bengal to take the pledge of rededicating themselves to the state’s wealth creation.

Electrosteel has grown out of West Bengal and today is lauded for being the pioneer of well guarded technology of Ductile Spun iron Pipe (DI Pipe) not only in India but also in the entire South Asia despite stiff resistance from the global stakeholders of the technology.

Today Electrosteel, a multi-located water infrastructure company is one of the five top Ductile Iron Spun Pipe manufacturers in the world exporting about 40 percent of the products to more than 50 countries around the world in some of the most quality conscious markets like France, UK, Spain, Abu Dhabi, Singapore and Hong Kong, to name a few.

We are today integrated Ductile Pipe manufacturing company with manufacturing facility of pipe fittings along with DI Pipes and Metallurgical Coke, Sponge Iron, generating Green Power at Haldia. We have our own dedicated facility to provide technical support for laying of pipes. We have overseas subsidiaries in Europe, Algeria, US, UK and Singapore.

It is a matter of great pride that we along with a handful of others have been able to revive the old glory of West Bengal as a premier destination of engineering excellence. All this has been possible because of the total team work, excellent craftsmanship; efficiency and ability to embrace and innovate newer technologies which keep our company not only at the forefront as a supplier but also help expand the knowledge base of the domain itself besides quality consciousness. In fact today many a Manager nurtured at Electrosteel are playing vital roles in Indian industries.

It is a fact that we did not receive the kind of support that we would have wanted to grow even faster. The most rankling issue was that of the unavailability of land.

Our repeated appeal for additional industrial land in the adjoining sick and closed units  instead of being converted into housing estates contrary to pronounced policy of the state to enable us to expand are yet to receive positive response from the Government to enable us to grow and generate more employment. So is our request for reviving the Kulti Works as joint venture and a Coal Block from the state  for setting up a thermal power plant which we could have utilized to create the much needed infrastructure for the state apart from generating employment and creating wealth.

West Bengal has everything and can regain its position at the very top of industrially advanced and economically vibrant states of the union. We hope that the new Government’s resolve to provide a focused and transparent administration that will understand the needs of the industry and give it the space to grow and excel will have the desired result.

We, in Electrosteel believe that we should not sit idle and wait for the Government to perform miracles. On the contrary, we should give the clarion call to all son-of-soil industrialists like us to seize the opportunity and do everything in our might to aid the honest intentions of the government to take West Bengal to the top. The time has come for us to take the pledge, to rededicate ourselves to the cause of wealth creation for the state.

Let us pledge to put our best under the dynamic leadership of the present and honourable Chief Minister who not only dreams the same dream that we do, but is also capable to transforming that dream of an economically vibrant West Bengal a reality. The Electrosteel family – from our workers to shareholders – pledges our wholehearted support with an assurance that given an opportunity we in Electrosteel can take on the world.  We stand firm in our commitment to the state and are still looking for suitable land to add further value to our product lines.

Carpe Diem didi, we are with you.
